DAY 1 – WELCOME TO CUSCO & IMPERIAL CITY TOUR

Upon your arrival at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco, a dedicated representative from Andean Bear Journeys will extend a warm welcome and arrange your private airport transfer to your hotel. Take time to check in, relax, and acclimate to the elevation (3,399 m / 11,150 ft).

In the afternoon, embark on a private guided tour exploring Cusco’s most iconic historic and archaeological monuments:

• Cusco Cathedral: A prominent colonial masterpiece featuring carved woodwork and acclaimed artwork from the Cusqueña School of Art.

• Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun): The most sacred site of the Inca Empire, famous for its masterful stone architecture.

Morning departure at 7:00 AM.

Begin your journey towards Chinchero to visit a traditional textile interpretation center. Discover ancestral weaving techniques passed down through generations and engage directly with local weavers.

Next, continue to the highland community of Ccorccor for an authentic experiential tourism encounter. Participate in traditional community activities, learn about local customs, and enjoy traditional Andean games alongside local hosts.

Savor an authentic Pachamanca lunch — an ancestral culinary feast prepared beneath the earth using hot stones, local herbs, meats, and Andean tubers.

In the afternoon, proceed to the agricultural laboratory of Moray, renowned for its hypnotic circular terracing system. Following Moray, explore the Maras Salt Mines, where thousands of ancient terraced salt pools are harvested artisanally by local families.

Conclude your day in Ollantaytambo, a living Inca town featuring ancient stone-paved streets, original water channels, and impressive architecture.

In the evening, board the Expedition Train bound for Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). Upon arrival, enjoy a private reception and transfer to your hotel.

Please arrive at the train station 30 minutes prior to departure. Board the premium Vistadome Observatory Train for a scenic journey along the Urubamba River back to Ollantaytambo, featuring floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows, live cultural music, and an open-air observation car.

Upon arrival at Ollantaytambo Station, an Andean Bear Journeys representative will transfer you privately back to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 4 – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN ATV QUAD BIKE ADVENTURE (VINICUNCA)

Early morning departure around 4:00 AM heading south from Cusco through picturesque high-Andean landscapes. After a scenic two-hour drive, enjoy a nutritious breakfast in Cusipata before continuing to the ATV base camp.

Receive a comprehensive safety briefing, gear fitting, and operational demonstration from your professional instructor. Embark on an exhilarating ATV trail ride crossing high-altitude paths surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks, open pampas, and native wildlife.

Upon reaching the ATV park point, take a short gentle hike to the main viewpoints of Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain), admiring its famous vibrant mineral stripes formed over millions of years.
