ITINERARY

DAY 1 – WELCOME TO CUSCO & IMPERIAL CITY HIGHLIGHTS

Upon arrival at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport, a private representative from Andean Bear Journeys will extend a warm welcome and transfer you to your hotel. Settle in, relax, and gradually adjust to the high altitude (3,399 meters / 11,150 feet above sea level).

In the afternoon, embark on an intimate guided tour through Cusco’s historic landmarks:

• Cusco Cathedral: A colonial masterpiece featuring priceless artworks from the Cusqueña Art School and intricate carved woodwork.

• Qorikancha (The Temple of the Sun): The most sacred precinct of the Inca Empire, showcasing extraordinary ancient stonework engineering.

• Sacsayhuamán: An iconic megalithic complex offering spectacular panoramic views of the entire imperial city.

• Qenqo: An ancient ceremonial sanctuary featuring carved stone altars and subterranean passages.

• San Cristóbal Viewpoint & San Blas Quarter: Enjoy sweeping views over the city before strolling through cobblestone streets, artisan workshops, and cozy cafés.

Return to your hotel. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 2 – SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS TO MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO

CHINCHERO + MARAS SALT PANS + MORAY + OLLANTAYTAMBO

(Departure at 7:00 AM)

Begin your morning heading to Chinchero to visit an authentic textile interpretation center and witness ancestral Andean weaving techniques.

Continue to the breathtaking Salt Mines of Maras, featuring over 3,000 terraced salt pools harvested since pre-Inca times. Next, explore Moray, a mesmerizing circular agricultural amphitheater used by the Incas.

Enjoy a refined buffet lunch in Urubamba.

In the afternoon, explore Ollantaytambo, a living Inca town characterized by cobblestone pathways and mountain fortresses. In the evening, board the Expedition Train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). Arrival, private reception, and hotel check-in.

DAY 3 – MACHU PICCHU: WONDER OF THE WORLD

After breakfast, your private expert guide will escort you to the Consettur bus for the scenic ride up to the entrance of Machu Picchu Sanctuary.

(Important: Original passport and official admission ticket required).

Enjoy a 2 to 2.5-hour private guided tour across temples, terraces, and magnificent viewpoints while learning about the history of the Inca Citadel. Following the tour, enjoy free time to capture stunning couple photos against the backdrop of Huayna Picchu.

Descend by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch. Arrive at the station 30 minutes prior to departure to board the Vistadome Observatory Train back to Ollantaytambo, featuring panoramic windows and live cultural performances. Upon arrival, your private driver will carry you comfortably back to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 4 – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN ON ATVS: HIGH-ALTITUDE ADVENTURE

(Early departure at ~4:00 AM)

Journey south across scenic alpine countryside. After a two-hour drive, enjoy a delicious breakfast in Cusipata before reaching our private ATV base camp. Receive a professional safety briefing and operating instructions before starting your ride.

Throttle up through pristine mountain trails featuring panoramic views of snowy peaks, valleys, and native Andean wildlife. Upon reaching the motorized limit, take a short, rewarding walk to the main viewpoints of Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain). Take time for photo opportunities together and enjoy the high-altitude landscape.

Return on your ATVs for a buffet lunch in Cusipata before your private transfer back to Cusco.

In the evening, celebrate your journey with an exclusive Romantic Dinner & Cultural Show at a fine dining restaurant in Cusco.

DAY 5 – PRIVATE AIRPORT TRANSFER
